Hello everyone from hot, humid Ohio. Everything is in full life now, including the bugs and the weeds. I'm fighting a losing battle against both, but it's a good time to hole up on screened porch and read. I've been through Darryl D'Art's fascinating comparison of Sweden, Denmark, UK and Ireland, and I've had a look at an early draft Erik Poutsma's latest manuscript. (Bravo Erik, it's really a tour de l'Europe! "Encyclopedic" is the only word to describe it.) I would really like to have your various views on the workmen's funds, which are a form of collective share ownership. I now begin to understand the Meidner plan. There are a lot of things to recommend this form -- equity, solidarity and widespread coverage among them. But from what I've read so far, it doesn't look like this approach is going to be adopted very widely. Is the collective ownership idea going to fade away? -- Jacquelyn Yates, Ph.D. Political Science Kent State University - Salem 2491 S.R. 45 South Salem, OH 44460 yates@mail.salem.kent.edu FAX 330-332-9256 Tel. 330-337-4282 --
